Project - IHG - Kimpton Hotels Integration
IHG purchased Kimpton Hotels in or around 2015. The DxD team was charged with figuring out how best to integrate them into the IHG experience.
Purpose
To incorporate the Kimpton Hotels into IHG website and offerings.
Challenges
Make it appear as though Kimpton had been integrated
Initial challenge was there was no appetite or time to do a full integration.
Early phase of integration of the new hotel chain was simply including links over to their site from IHG
Successes
Provided multiple options, including a suggested approach, for how to link over to Kimpton from IHG
Provided multiple options for how to integrate Kimpton into the IHG Rewards Club program
Produced a presentation to showcase multiple examples of online entities and what they were doing with personalization
Opportunities and Goals
Promote the inclusion of Kimpton Hotels in the family of IHG hotels
Make them a part of hotel searches on IHG (inc. advanced search and search filters)
Integrate Kimpton into IHG Rewards Club
Highlight them within IHG Groups & Meetings as well.
Look to Kimpton for ideas on personalization in order to take it further for IHG

Explored how other companies handled interstitial messaging pages when leaving their sites
Benchmarked other companies doing much more with personalization, including Kimpton

Personalization Presentation
The integration efforts for Kimpton prompted us to look further at personalization for the simple fact, as a boutique hotel, they were doing more than IHG was at the time.
